Obituary for FAULK

Lt. Col. Wiley "Woodie" Faulk, USA, (Ret.), 88, a resident of Albuquerque for 33 years, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Maria Ruth Faulk; step-children, Irma Martinez and husband, Hector of Albuquerque, Joe Chavez and wife, Josie of San Francisco, CA, and Carlos Chavez and wife, Sylvia of El Paso, TX; seven grandchildren, Margaret Sanchez and husband, Edward, Elizabeth Sehlmeyer and husband, Mike, Jennifer Amenta and husband, Julian, Annette Martinez and Louie, Daniel Martinez and Michelle, Jose Chavez and wife, Terri, and Kim Novak and husband, Chris; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Ralph Faulk and wife, Mary, of Oxford, AL; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley D. and Georgia Ann Faulk; one brother, Milton Faulk; and one sister, Mary Lou. Woodie was born in Calhoun County, AL. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and retired honorably in 1960. For the last eight years, Woodie had resided at the Three Fountains Apartments. He was a loving husband and wonderful grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Rosary will be recited Sunday, May 15, 2005, 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, May 16, 2005, 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Road NE, 87112 with Father Tom Zotter presiding. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Sunday, May 15, 2005, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
