Sharon K. Akins, 62, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jerry D. Akins; son, William James "Jim" Akins and wife, Jennifer of Albuquerque; sister, Carolyn Sutherland of Alto, NM; step-brothers, Jan King of El Paso, TX and Melvin King of Tucson, AZ; and many other relatives and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline King and her father, Chester Cozby. She was born in Sentinel, OK. Sharon was very active with the American Cancer Society, participating in all of their activities. She mentored many cancer patients. Sharon spent her lifetime in the grocery business demonstrating food and in retail sales. She was a beloved wife and mother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2005, 4:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with Pastor Moore officiating.
