Obituary for MCCLURE

Gordon W. McClure, born March 22, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant IA, died on April 23, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM, his home since 1955. He is survived by three children, John McClure of Santa Fe, NM, Judy Hulsey of Fort Worth TX, and Tom McClure of Arvada, CO; a brother, Eugene McClure of Deerfield, IL; six grandchildren; an aunt; and six cousins. He was privileged to have been helped by many wonderful friends, co-workers and mentors. He worked as a physicist at Bartol Research Foundation in Philadelphia from 1950 to 1955, and at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque from 1955 until 1982. He was coauthor of a book on physics and author of thirty publications in various physics journals. He gave numerous lectures and published many editorials on arms control, problems facing our children, economics, and health care reform. He deemed most rewarding his work on international arms control and world peace. A Memorial gathering will be held on May 8, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Church Social Hall located at Carlisle and Comanche NE.
