Obituary for BURRALL

Mary Lee Burrall, age 92, died Saturday, April 24, 2005. Ms. Burrall was born on a homestead near Grady, NM on July 18, 1912. She was a graduate of New Mexico A&M (New Mexico State University) and was retired New Mexico educator. She was employed by the Extension Service and the Farm Security Administration during Roosevelt's New Deal era and was always concerned about the welfare of others. She is survived by her son, Harrison Lee Burrall, of the family home in Corrales; daughter, Kathleen Fairfax Oestreicher and husband, Jack of Albuquerque; two sisters, Emma Hawk Briscoe of LaConner, WA, Alyce Hawk McCormick of Amherst, MA; grandchildren, Shannon Fairfax Oestreicher of Phoenix, AZ, John Harrison Oestreicher and wife, Yzana of Miami Beach, FL; one great-grandchild, Lucas Joseph Oestreicher; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Mary Lee, Emma, and Alyce Hawk Scholarship at New Mexico State University or the New Mexico Animal Humane Association.
