Mattie W. Petty 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 19, 2005. She is survived by her son, Randall Petty and wife, Myra of Louisville, KY; grandson, Richard Petty; one great-granddaughter, Ella Petty; two step granddaughters, Renee Werner and Aprile Oster; foster son, Steven Zerbach and wife, Molly of Alaska; foster grandsons, Nathan and Eddie Zerbach; and one sister, Gladys Birchfield. Mrs. Petty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, George Petty. She was an active member at First Baptist Church of Alameda where she was the recording secretary for about 30 years. Mrs. Petty retired as a bookkeeper from the VFW Post 401, where she also worked for 30 years. She will be deeply missed by her loving family. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Alameda, 8818 2nd St. NW, with Pastor Marvin Capehart officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
