Obituary for ALDERETE

Sam A. "Sammy" Alderete, born September 17, 1941 in Albuquerque, NM, died April 12, 2005. Mr. Alderete is preceded in death by his daughter, Selin Alderete and mother, Rose Alderete. He is survived by his wife, Sally Alderete; father, Juan Alderete; sons, Steve Alderete and wife, Donette, and Juan Alderete and wife, Kenia; daughter, Charlotte Alderete and husband, Andrew Trujillo; six beautiful grandchildren, Brittany Alderete, Alexandria Alderete, Isaac Alderete, Marisa Trujillo, Isabella Alderete, and Maya Trujillo; brother, Frank Alderete and wife, Rose; and sisters, Rosalie Alderete, Carmen Alderete, and Ann Vigil. Mr. Alderete started Service Electric Co., Inc. along with his brother, Frank Alderete in 1970. He was also involved in community charities including, Cuidando Los Ninos, All Faiths Receiving Home, and Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Alderete was a member of the Heritage Circle of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. He was also a surrogate father to many nieces and nephews. Sam spent his life dedicated to his wife, family, friends and especially his grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Alderete will be held on Friday, April 15, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Ascension Catholic Church, located at 2150 Raymac Rd SW. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2005 also at the Ascension Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alton Sisneros, Loren Serna, Ernesto Serna, Frank X. Alderete, Chad Hoover, and Leon Serna. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Robson, Ricky Sandoval, Gaylord "Smitty" Smith, Bennett Hammer, Bruce Miller, Tony Vigil, and Willie Baca.
