James T. "Jake" Hadaway Jr., 82, of Truth or Consequences, NM was born January 31, 1923 to the late James Thomas Hadaway, Sr. and Laura Alice (Moody) Hadaway in Lubbock, TX. Jake passed away at the Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX on March 30, 2005. He had been a resident of Truth or Consequences for 20 years, and was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad as an engineer after 38 years of service, and was a member of the United Transportation Union. He loved to hunt and fish and pan for gold and was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, having served during World War II. Jake is survived by his wife, Ellen Louise Hadaway of TorC, NM; his daughters, Janet Sue Hall and husband, Charley of McDonald, NM; Ellen Jane Atkinson and husband, Roger of Wichita Falls, TX; a son, Jerry Ray Hadaway and companion, Stephanie of Highlands Ranch, CO; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; by his sister, Betty Lou and husband, Herman Tabet of Belen, NM; and was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bob Hadaway of Bridgeport, TX; and two sisters, Margaret Patterson of Seagraves, TX and Charlene Sparks of Bridgeport, TX. Visitation for family and friends will be held in the Chapel of Kirikos Family Funeral Home on Monday, April 4, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. till Service Time. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Kirikos Family Funeral Home with Mr. David Templeton officiating. Interment will follow in the Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors.
