Obituary for ORNDORFF

Howard Martin Orndorff died Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Hospital. Born February 23, 1921, in Dayton, OH, to the late Joseph William and Nellie Orndorff, he was the grandson of Joseph William and Laura Snyder Orndorff, of Buena Vista, VA. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Army at Los Alamos on the Manhattan Project. After the war, he made Albuquerque his permanent home, where he founded several companies, including Duke City Tool Company and Trend Manufacturing, Inc. He is survived by his daughters, Skip (Norma), of Albuquerque, and Nancy Orndorff Kelley and husband, Donald Patrick, of Washington, NC; his brother, William Joseph Orndorff and wife, Gail, of Xenia, OH; and his niece, Linda Sillery Ingram and husband, Mick, of Albuquerque. He wass preceded in death by a brother, Robert Charles Orndorff, of Dayton, OH, and, recently, his best friend of 60 years, Melvin Naus, of Albuquerque. Friends and family may visit Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Graveside Services will follow at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
