Lizzie Mojarro, age 85, was born May 22, 1919. She passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005. A lifelong resident of the Albuquerque area, and long time resident of Valencia County, she was a 20 year volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul in Peralta. Lizzie was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Mojarro, and she is survived by her son, Paul Gurule and wife, Peggy; daughter, Margie Chavez; sister, Alphie Torres; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Parish, 816 Broadway Blvd. SE, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 with burial following at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be David Chavez, Leroy Chavez, Robert Chavez, Andrew Gurule, Freddy Torres, and Michael Irving. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Torres, Martin Aguero, Roman Sandoval, Chino Bustillos, Carlos Bentacourt, and Jeremy Fieldler. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW.
