Obituary for GIPSON

Maxine M. Gipson, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1996, died Saturday, March 26, 2005. She is survived by her children, Edwina Waddington and husband, Ralph of Albuquerque, Larry E. Bates and wife, Susan of Huntsville, AR, and Mendy Coe and husband, David of Nashville, TN, five grandchildren, Kellie J. Rios and husband, Tom, Read Waddington, Jana Bates and Scott Bates and wife, Esther,and Erin Elizabeth Coe, great-grandchildren; Alexandrea Rios, Maggie Jean Rios, Mariom Bates, and Naomi Bates. Maxine was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin Bates in 1967 and William E. Gipson in 1991 and nine brothers and three sisters. She was born on June 22, 1918 in Nunley, Arkansas and lived in Mena, AR until 1953. She later lived in Ft. Smith, AR, Ft. Sill, OK, Albuquerque, NM, and Moore, OK. She was always active in her church as a Sunday school teacher and she and her husband, Bill, also served as cooks for their churches. Maxine loved gardening and fishing. Her life centered around her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, 5:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Burial will take place at Ft. Sill, OK the week of April 4, 2005. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monterey Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 12501 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
