Obituary for CHAVEZ

JOSE (JOE) B. Mr. Jose (Joe) B. Chavez, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 17, 2005. Mr. Chavez is the beloved husband to Mrs. Nora Chavez, married for 41 years. Mr. Chavez is also survived by his best friend and companion, "Lucky Joe"; two brothers, Pantaleon Chavez and wife, Oralia, Alfredo Chavez and Rose Chavez; his ex-wife, Ida Chavez; brothers in law, John Lorenzo and wife, Dora, Robert Sanchez and wife, Bina, Joe Dugan and wife, Dorothy; sisters in law, Annie Garcia, Sarah Gurule, and Rose Candelaria; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Adelida Chavez and two brothers, Juan and Fernandez Chavez. Mr. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the Unites States Army serving in World War II; he was a Charismatic Leader under the Catholic Charismatic Center. Joe and Nora were greeters for the San Jose de Los Durans Catholic Mission. A visitation for Mr. Chavez will be Sunday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the San Jose de Los Durans Catholic Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd NW with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. by Deacon Joe Lucero. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at San Jose de Los Durans Catholic Mission with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Jerry Plotkowski. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors by the United States Army. Pallbearers will be Robert Sanchez, Brian, Sanchez, John Lorenzo, David Gurule, Eric Candelaria,and Arthur Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be, Joseph Albillar, Demetrio Chavez, Tim Dugan, and Mark Thredway. Arrangements by: Gabaldon Mortuary 1000 Old Coors Rd SW 243-7861
