Obituary for NGUYEN

Diane Nguyen 49, a resident of Albuquerque, died at her home with her beloved family on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, after a two year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Paul; two sons, Chris and John; daughter, Carolynn; three sisters, Thi Tuoi, Thom, and Do of New York; and two brothers, Duong and Phong of New York. Diane was born in Vietnam and had been a New Mexican since 1977. She always treated others as if they were part of her own family. While running Saigon Far East- a Vietnamese restaurant located on San Pedro and Kathryn, she touched people's lives through their hearts and filling their stomachs with wonderful delicious food. Her devotion to her family was so strong; she would do anything for them. "She taught me a strong work ethic, dedication and how to get along with people," says Chris, her oldest son. "Everybody that she came in contact with, she loved them and they loved her. She always loved to bring a smile to a person's face." Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life and she was a member of the Holy Ghost Church. A Rosary will be recited Friday, March 11, 2005, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 12, 2005, 10:30 a.m., at Holy Ghost Church, 833 Arizona St. SE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Diane T. Nguyen's name to cancer research at the University of New Mexico Cancer Research, CRTC, Attn: Raney Weiler-Development, MSC 08-4630, 1 University of NM, Albuquerque, 87131-0001.
