Obituary for LUJAN

Ignacia Paula Duran, beloved, daughter, wife mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, born June 19, 1910, born into eternal life on March 8, 2005. She had been an elementary school teacher, played the piano by ear, sang and recently, when she couldn't remember a lot of things, she hummed. Ignacia was known for her cooking, pottery making, crocheting, math skills, and her love for and pride in her children. Her love of God and her Catholic faith caused some to return to the faith of their fathers. She was highly intelligent, outgoing, warm-hearted, loving with a great sense of humor. Ignacia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two infant children; three sisters; and two grandsons, Richard Lujan and Marcus Blasi. She is survived by her children, Evelyn Baca, Charles and Willie Lujan, Peggy and Tony Blasi; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother-in-law; several nieces; nephews; friends; and her six step-grandsons and their families. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming NE (Wyoming and Paseo Del Norte. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimers Association of New Mexico Chapter, 9500 Montgomery Blvd NE, Alburquerque, NM 87111.
