FRANK V. ORTIZ JR., former United States Ambassador, age 78, of Santa Fe, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005. Serving as pallbearers will be Alfred Ortiz, Frank Ortiz III, Stephen Ortiz, Charles Robinson, Garrett Thornburg, George Paloheimo, Fred Nathan, and Stewart Ashman. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2005, from 4-5:30 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening, 6:00 p.m. at St. Francis Cathedral Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, March 4, 2005, 1:30 p.m. at St. Francis Cathedral, with the very Reverend Monsignor Jerome Martinez y Alire as celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery and conclude with a reception for family and friends at the La Fonda Hotel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in the Ambassador's name to the Palace of the Governors Endowment Fund, c/o Museum of NM Foundation, P.O. Box 2065, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87504.
