Tomasita. Mrs. Tomasita "Tommie" Garcia, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away February 24, 2005 at her home, she was born March 20, 1922 in San Marcial, NM, to Leandro and Augustina (Alderete) Garcia. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Garcia and husband, Harry Tipton; one sister, Feliciana "Mary" Candelaria; one brother, Vicente Garcia; and her niece, Anita and husband, Gilbert Sanchez, all of Albuquerque. Tommie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Adelina Vivian; brother, Bennie Garcia; father, Leandro Garcia; brother, Procopio Garcia; mother, Augustina Garcia; brothers, Libriano (Libra) Garcia and Johnnie Garcia. Mrs. Garcia was a current member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Parish, enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos, traveling with her daughter, Becky, and fishing. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 28, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gilbert, Michael, Anthony, Daniel, and Joseph Sanchez, and Krista Mireles. The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Cathi Burgess, and Odyssey Hospice nurses, Becky Thomson and Nancy Pino.
