Obituary for JORDAN

Alma Cleatus NeeSmith Jordan died at her home in Albuquerque, NM Wednesday, February 16, 2005 after a long illness. She has lived in Albuquerque since July 2000. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, William Earlie Jordan of Albuquerque. They were married November 25, 1933 in Toombs County, GA near Lyons and Vidalia. She was born April 15, 1914 to Hurdrey Alexander NeeSmith, Sr. and Mattie Partin NeeSmith. She lived in Toombs County, GA including several years in Lyons. She was a very active member of Lyons United Methodist Church. In 1959 she and Earlie moved with their family to McAllen, TX. They were very active in St. Mark's United Methodist Church. In 1980 they move to Las Cruces, NM. They were members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Betty and Jim Richards, Marion and Donna Jordan, and Angus Jordan, all of Albuquerque, Peggy and Robert Wycoff of Victoria, TX, and Wanda Jordan Bedinghaus of Denver, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Steve and Linda Coats of Lewes, DE, Mark and Jennifer Coats of Albuquerque, Randy Coats and Debbie Atencio of Albuquerque, Debbie and Mark Gerner of Mesquite, TX, Blake Jordan and Ann Morey of Albuquerque, Sabrina Wycoff and Martin Cano of Cypress, TX, Jeremy and Laurie Wycoff of Corpus Christi, TX, and Garret Wycoff of Austin, TX. She has 13 great-grandchildren. Also she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. All during her life Cleatus was a very positive force in her own life and in that of her family. Her warm love and humorous spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her faith in God and the goodness of life were guiding principles for her and her family. Services will be held Monday, February 21, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve McElroy officiating. Interment will take place Tuesday, February 22, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at Las Cruces Masonic Cemetery, Las Cruces, NM. Friends may visit Sunday, February 20, 2005, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
