Obituary for COSTANZA

Robert "Bob" Costanza, age 78, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on February 18, 2005. He was born on January 15, 1927 to Charles Roxie Costanza and Bernice Irene Denman in Ambridge, PA. Robert moved to Belen, NM, in 1949 where he met and married Jackie Mae Patterson on February 28, 1950. He was a member of the Church of God NM. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a master carpenter. He was a well known general contractor working in many cities throughout NM. He was the owner of Jebco Construction Co. specializing in design and building of clean rooms. He retired in 1988 from the construction business with over 40 years of outstanding service. He also acted as superintendent on many commercial buildings throughout the state. Bob was a member of the New Mexico Apple Growers Council. After his retirement from the construction industry he devoted his time to the Costanza Orchard. He and his wife, Jackie, began the orchard in 1962. He was well known throughout the state for his apple growing abilities. Bob was proud to have a graft of the original Johnny Apple Seed tree. He had a great love for family and music. His family will always remember him for his guitar playing and singing. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jackie Mae Patterson Costanza; his sister, Betsy Cole; brother, Chuck Costanza and his wife, Cindi; his children, Edward Costanza and his wife, Louella of Edgewood, NM, Margaret and her husband, Glenn Wickes of Albuquerque, NM, Laura Costanza of Albuquerque, NM, Jim Costanza and his wife, Raynette of Dallas, TX, Lisa and her husband, Alfred Hastings of Beulah, CO, Paul Costanza and his wife, Marletta of Belen; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel beginning with a viewing on Monday, February 21, 2005 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 from 10:30 -11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Robert Gromatzky, John, Ryan, Joshua, Sean, James, and Daniel Costanza, Sam Buck, Brian, Jonathan, and Charles Hastings. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N.
