Obituary for DRAVES

Celestine (Cel) G. Quintana Draves, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was called home to the Lord, Our Savior, on Friday, February 11, 2005, after a short illness. Cel was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe F. Quintana, and by her second husband, Carl E. Draves; also, her parents, Suncion and Pelagia (Baca) Gonzales; her parents-in-law, Alejandro and Josefita (Maes) Quintana, and Al and Sadie Yunker; and special Godson, Jim Fox. She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Q. Gallegos and husband, Henry of Santa Fe; son, Alex J. Quintana of Rio Rancho; Gallegos grandchildren: Greg, Mike (Jolene), Carla Parker, Roberta (Juan) Siller, and Paula (Kentyn) Reynolds; Quintana grandchildren: Joseph, Ron (Nadine), Patrick and Thomas. "Mita" Cel is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Ashley Parker, Stephanie and Steven Siller, Brittany Herrera, Emma and David Romero, and Alex, Bethany, and Saige Gallegos; step-grandchildren: Laina (Matt) Levy; Hannah Griscom, and Georgia Allen. She is also survived by her sister, Pearla Parenzan and her family; a very close cousin, Pita Mignardot; sisters-in-law: Concha and Ernestine Quintana, Lucy (Abel) Medina and Conchita Lopez; brother-in-law: Bennie Quintana; and many other close relatives and friends. Cel was a graduate of Loretto Academy, and had retired from the New Mexico Supreme Court where she was employed as secretary to Chief Justices Daniel K. Sadler, Irwin S. Moise, John B. McManus, and Thomas F. McKenna. The Prayer Vigil will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 7 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., also at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, or to the Carmelite Monastery.
