Roberto M. Lopez, 72, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, January 16, 2005. He is survived by his sons, Steve Lopez of Phoenix, AZ and Richard Lopez of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Carla Lopez of San Angelo, TX and Ros‚ Marie Lopez of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Andrew Lopez, Andrea Benson, Alex Benson and Victoria Benson, all of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous other family members and friends. Mr. Lopez was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a former president of the Albuquerque West Lions Club, a member of American Legion Post # 13, and the DAV where he served as a member of the Honor Guard. He was also a member of the 40 and 8 Club, the Handymen, and a past member of the North Phoenix JC's. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover Ave. SW.
