Captain Andrew L. Garcia Sr. USN Ret., 73, of West Lake, Houston, TX passed away at his home, Tuesday morning, January 18, 2005. He was a retired Navy veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Andrew Garcia was born in Albuquerque, NM in the Barelas area of the city. He was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and also the University of New Mexico. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Violet Garcia; his mother, Louisa Garcia; children: Andrew L. Garcia Jr. and wife, Kathy, Stephen Anthony Garcia and wife, Diane, Michael Lucas Garcia and Chris, Thomas Francis Garcia and wife, Denise, and Theresa Maria Garcia-Stohlman and her husband, Todd; brothers and sisters: Ernie Kemm Candelaria, Kathryn Garcia, and Nino Garcia; grandchildren: Phillip Garcia, Belinda Garcia, Sara Garcia, Tyler Garcia, Justin Garcia, and Taylor Rose Stohlman. The Garcia family would like to thank all of their family and friends, for all of their prayers and support. His mother still resides in Albuquerque at 1600 Candelaria Rd NW. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Forest Park East Funeral Home, Webster, TX. Visitation will be held 5 -7 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2005, also at Forest Park East.
