Salomon, 90. Salomon Adolpho Garcia, born August 17, 1914, has gone to be with our Lord on January 17, 2005. He was known as "The little man with a Big Heart." Our father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of New Mexico. He loved spending time with his family at outings and family functions. To his children, he was the salt of the earth: a loving and generous family man. This precious man is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years and the love of his life, Juanita D. Garcia; five daughters who will cherish the memories of this wonderful man that was their father; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Salomon's daughters are Gloria Valenzuela, Martha Morgan and her husband, Alex, Elizabeth Jaramillo and her husband, Ramon, Rita Amos and her husband, Robert, and Marie Henfling and her husband, John. His grandchildren are Gloria's children- Kevin Valenzuela and Janelle Valenzuela Apodaca; Martha's children- Dion Cruz, Deidre Sena, Doreen Avila, and Deandra Morgan; Elizabeth's children- Christina Lovato, Dennis and Danny Montoya, and Dominic Jaramillo; Rita 's children- Rick Sanchez, Jennifer and Samantha Amos; Marie's children- Aaron and Amanda Henfling. He also had 25 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters, Jessie Chavez and Carlota Vigil and her husband, Ernesto. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces; many longtime friends and neighbors, all of whom he was so thankful for, will also greatly miss him. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. You could not leave his home without some of his home cooking. Salomon participated with his family as members of the Catholic Community. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Salazar and Sons Mortuary at 400 Third St. SW. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Church at 1818 Coal SE. A Mass celebrating God's goodness and Salomon's life will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kevin Valenzuela, Rick Sanchez, Dennis Montoya, Danny Montoya, Dominic Jaramillo, and Dion Cruz. Honorary Pallbearers are Aaron Henfling, Ramon Jaramillo, Robert Amos, John Henfling, and Alex Morgan.
