Jose M. Chavez, 83, passed away in his home on January 11, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Conception; his daughter, Kathy and husband, Harry Laycock; his son, David and wife, wife Peggy; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Joe Laycock; Shawn, Joshua, Anthony, LeeAnn, and Shannon Chavez; three great-grandchildren, Desiree Laycock, GiaVanna and Victoria Gonzales; and a fourth great-grandchild due in May 2005. He served his country for thirty-one years in the United States Army, and retired as a Command Sergeant Major. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, on Monday, January 17, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
