Obituary for GURULE

Leonard, Amos, 53, of Albuquerque went with our Lord, Jesus on December 26, 2004. He was born in Canon De Vallecitos in 1951. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gregorita Maria Gurule. He is survived by his daughter, Angeline Marie Gurule; his uncle, Leo DeVargas and wife Lida of Denver, Co; his sisters, Alice Bailey and husband John, Judy brown and husband Bill, Sadie Ortiz and husband Juan of Albuquerque; brothers, Andy Gurule and wife Jenny of Chili, Bobby Gurule and wife Lillian of El Duende, Levi Gurule and wife Jo Anne of Le Alcalde, Dino Gurule of Santa Fe; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Leonard was always passionate about art and dancing. He loved life and God and had a heart of gold. His heart allowed him to help others when they were in need, without any hesitation. He served his country as a veteran of the US Army and also received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts From the University of New Mexico, with a double in Chicano studies and the Classics. He is loved dearly and will be missed by all. Honorary pallbearers: Lorenzo Chavez, Juan Ortiz, Conrad Tapia, Leroy Chavez, Jonathan Atencio, and David Tafoya. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Family Worship Center at 5200 Iliff Road in Northwest Albuquerque. Following the services the burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 501 North Guadalupe Street. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 343-8008. I love you dad!
