Obituary for MITCHELL

Frances Lee Mitchell, age 98, died December 11, 2004 at her home in Hansville, WA. She was born May 27, 1906 in Seattle, WA to Amelia G. (Lee) and Frank Davison. On August 1, 1930 she married Gerald E. Mitchell in Seattle, WA. He preceded her in death in 1979. Frances was a very active homemaker. She accompanied her husband on his many assignments in various parts of the world including Australia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Alaska, and many regions of the US. In 1979 she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and in 1986 she made her home with her daughter, "Bunny" first in Bainbridge Island and later in Hansville. She was an inveterate reader who enjoyed the world of books and was continually learning about the countries and cultures that she lived in. For all of her life she found daily challenge and enjoyment in the New York Crossword puzzles. Frances is survived by her son, Gerald Mitchell of Edmonds; daughter, Bernadine Cottingham-Kleckner and her husband, Edward; daughter-in-law, Catherine Gradi; grandchildren, Kirk Mitchell, Evan Cottingham and his wife, Trina; Ian Cottingham, and Kate Cottingham. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Barbara Ann Cox. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
