Obituary for KUSNETZ

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday December 14, 2004

Alberta Kusnetz, born on December 25, 1933, resident of Albuquerque since 1972 is remembered for her dedicated service as a registered nurse, strong heart and abundance of love for family and those fortunate to have shared her thoughts and endeavors. Alberta extended her professional RN credentials and contributed to the welfare of many in need. After graduating from the University of New Mexico she achieved a Masters and Counseling credentials, without any diminishment of being there for her children, Arthur, Ira, Ilyse and especially Susan. This memorable mother, wife, and friend shared in many adventures and affected the lives of all who came to know her. Encouraging her husband Norman and his career work in Brazil, and with their then seven-week-old son, she soon led the mothers of Rio de Janeiro in a cultural revolution-reclaiming their children from 'Empregadas' to join Alberta in wheeling their prams and strollers on the mosaic sidewalks of Copacabana, together in the robust pleasure of bonding mother and child. Her exciting and creative work in the art medium of clay and pottery has been shared with mutual respect and admiration by those who worked with her; and with special delight and memory by loving recipients of her work. Also sharing in this proclamation of love are her brothers Sol, and Myron with Mary V. and sisters, Mary G. and Evie; and so many dear nephews and nieces who have touched her heart. Alberta started a new adventure on December 9, 2004, leaving her friends and family with those memories necessary to carry on her wonderful dreams. Please send your dear ones something special this day to express a sign of appreciation and thanks for making your own dreams and adventures as memorable as ours are today; and if you can, donate to those organizations dedicated to cancer research and extension of quality of life. Services were held at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE, on December 13, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., B'nai Israel section. Arrangements by French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, 275-3500
