Mary Elizabeth Smith, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, died Friday, December 10, 2004. She taught art history at the University of New Mexico from 1966 to 1987 and at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA from 1987 until her retirement in 1994. She was also a guest professor at the University of Hamburg, Germany in 1981. She is survived by a brother, Thomas Hugh Smith of Calumet, MI; three nephews; and a niece. Burial of cremains will be in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local public library. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
