Obituary for COLE

Harold W. Cole, 83, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 29, 2004 at Manor Care Alzheimer Unit. His loving wife and childhood friend, "Ellen" Helen, married 63 years, survives him. He was preceded in death by his only son, Gregory L. Cole in 2000. He is also survived by grandson, Gregory Cole Jr.; granddaughter, Michelle Cole; daughter, Lana J. Johnson-Chulak and husband, David; his grandson, Kenneth Lee Johnson and wife, Valerie; great-grandson, Kenneth Dean; daughter Merrie Alice Basham; grandson, Brandon; and granddaughter, Kendell. Harold served in the military during WWII. He also was a jazz musician (drummer) during the Big Band Era and worked as a dedicated furniture salesman at American Furniture for 27 years. During his retirement, he volunteered with the New Mexico Parks, the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and Hodgin Elementary as a homework helper. He also received the Jefferson Award in 1998. Private services will be held for the family per his request. The family's sincere thanks and love to all of the Manor Care Alzheimer Unit on Lester Drive NE and the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Albuquerque who provided loving care during his last days.
