(Rosemary Cook) Rhoda Mae Jones, the only daughter of Sadie Jenkins and John Jones, was born in St. Louis, Illinois on August 22, 1914. After the untimely death of her dear mother, Rhoda Mae, at the age of eight, was sent to Conway, Arkansas where she was raised by relatives. As a beautiful young woman, she took the name of Rosemary and spent many years in Detroit, Michigan. In 1949 she moved to Los Angeles, California where she was reunited with an old childhood friend and classmate, Freddie Butler, from Arkansas. They were married in 1951 and had one daughter, Sondra. In 1961 she married Clarenzio Cook and became a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Her church activities included; Missionary ladies, service as an usher, gospel chorus and Bible Study classes. She remained an active and devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church for 41 years. In 2001, she relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico to be closer to her only daughter Sondra, her two granddaughters, Courtney Rose and Valerie and her cherished son-in-law, Chic. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Service will be on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary with Pastor Marshall Smith officiating. Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chic Day, Nelson Sapad, Kambiz Victory, and Tom Persons.
