Obituary for MADRIL

Susano Madril, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for the past twenty-five years, passed away at his home on November 21, 2004. Susano was born June 16, 1917 in Duran, NM. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Cristobal and Juanita Madril; three brothers, Sabino Madril, Boney Madril, and Narciso Madril; three sisters, Ursula Garcia, Lucia Montoya, and Rosalia Roybal. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was a POW for about four and a half years during WW II and participated in the Bataan Death March. He retired from the service and later worked for the U.S. Government with the Hoof and Mouth Disease in Mexico. He then came back to the family ranching business in Duran, NM, until he moved to Albuquerque. He belonged to St. John's Catholic Church in Duran, NM, where he also belonged to the San Jose Society. When he moved to Albuquerque he belonged to Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he was also an usher for many years. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Queen of Heaven Church, 5310 Claremont NE, Albuquerque, NM, on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. with his grand-nephew, Fr. Tim Martinez officiating. Pallbearers will be Andy Pena, Joe Sanchez, Eric Pohl, Chris Garcia, Bobby Pena, Ricky Pacheco, Charlie Anaya, and Johnny Madril. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
