Obituary for MCELFRESH

Clyde Ray McElfresh, 86, passed away at his daughter's home in Alpine, Texas on Nov. 18, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his daughter Nancy DeWitt and husband Ben, and his son Paul McElfresh and wife Julee. Grandchildren include Amanda and Emily Hastings, Matt, Scott and Karen McElfresh. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Kay McElfresh. Ray was born in Marion Township, Morgan County, Ohio on March 11, 1918. He and Kay moved to Albuquerque in 1954 from Denver, Co. when he was employed by Sandia Laboratories. Ray was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific and recently attended a reunion of the 754th Field Artillery Battalion. He was a founding member of Hope Church, now known as Hope Evangelical Free Church. He had a lifelong interest in genealogy and was a volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital before moving to Alpine, Texas in 2003. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 23, 2004, 12:30 p.m., at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 4710 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE, with Pastor Gary Hamburger officiating.
