Obituary for VIGIL

Enrique Vigil, 90, a resident of Albuquerque for five years, died on November 16, 2004. He is survived by his five daughters, Josie Abeyta and husband, Alex of Penasco, NM, Helen Atencio and husband, John of Dixon, NM, Theresa Martinez and husband, Freddie of Albuquerque, Barbara Maestas and husband, David of Albuquerque and Annie Maestas and husband, James also of Albuquerque; two sons, William Vigil and wife, Dolores of Albuquerque and Jimmy Vigil and wife, Maxine of San Mateo, CA; 26 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Ofelia Aguilar of El Valle, NM and Lugardita Griego of Dixon, NM; one brother, Elizardo Vigil of Toole, UT. Enrique is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Maes Vigil; three sons, Tony, Henry, and Nelson Vigil; parents, Eduardo and Onofre Vigil; three brothers, Ernesto, Clarence and Ben Vigil. He was a former long time member of St. John the Baptist Pueblo Catholic Church. He was employed by the Zia Company at Los Alamos National Labs for 27 years. Enrique was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America Local 16. He loved farming and ranching. Enrique was a very loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary -Westside Chapel with Legion of Mary, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Josephs Dr. NW with Father Frank Prieto, celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alvan Abeyta, Danny Vigil, Larry Vigil, James Vigil, Tommy Vigil, Jonathan Atencio, Kenny Martinez, Tommy Martinez, Darren Maestas, Antonio Vigil, Joseph Vigil, Phillip Maestas, Jeremy Maestas and Carlos Vigil.
