Anthony J. Martinez, age 48, was born in Salt Lake City, UT., June 26, 1956. He died of pneumonia on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2004 at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Anthony graduated from West High School in SLC, UT., was awarded a full scholarship to General Motors School of Mechanics in SLC, UT., and he attended MTI Computer School in Sacramento, CA. He proudly served his country in the US Army, attaining the rank of E-4, from 1975 to 1979, and was a highly skilled mechanic, carpenter, and artist. He was preceded in death by his mother, Orlinda Garcia Daleo; sister, Beatrice; brothers, Richard, Adolph and Christopher; nephew, Jose Manuel; grandparents, Enrique and Beatriz Garcia, Beningo and Doloritas Martinez, and numerous relatives. Anthony is survived by his father J. Bolivar Martinez of Penasco, NM; two sons, Anthony of Salt Lake City and John of Tujunga, CA; sisters, Linda and Yvonne; nephew, Bruce; nieces, Juanita, Kathileen, Monique, Elizabeth and many relatives and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial services will be held at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Penasco. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Thursday, November 18, 2004. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, November 19, 2004. He loved children and helped to raise Frankie and Tuesday, and he considered himself a grandpa to Angel M.
