Obituary for JOHNSON

Duane R. Johnson, 62, passed away at home, Saturday, November 13, 2004. Duane was a warm and gentle man who had a great sense of humor and loved music, books, and the outdoors. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and a dear friend to many. Duane was known for being a good listener and was an inspirational leader in his support communities. He devoted his life to helping others, in service to his country for six years in the US Air Force, and as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist for thirty years. Preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne (Godfrey) Johnson, and his parents, Marie (Morse) and Norman Johnson; he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Johnson; son-in-law, Daniel Rios; grandchildren, Devin, Darius, Enrique, and Sierra Rios. A graveside service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday, November 19, 2004 at 10:00 am. A pot luck memorial gathering will be held at his home, 2348 Avenida Las Campanas in Santa Fe, on Saturday, November 20, 2004 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a special sharing time at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
