Richard, Sr. Mr. Richard Serna Sr., 62, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 7, 2004. Mr. Serna is the beloved husband to Mrs. Lazarita (Sarah) Serna, married for 41 years. Mr. Serna is survived by his loving children, Richard C. Serna Jr., Angela Y. Mendoza and husband, Patrick, Domieann M. Serna-Jones and husband, Dru and Pam Serna; two sisters, Gina Valenti and husband, Terry and Cathy Lopez; two brothers, Mike Serna Jr. and wife, Emma, Albert Lopez Jr. and wife, Debbie; nine grandchildren, Valerie, Frances, Brenda, Janelle, Dominic, Jayson, Alyssa, Isaiah and Olivia; an uncle, Isidro Archuleta and wife, Bennie; sister in law, Gloria Serna; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Serna was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Ernestina Serna, a brother, Alex Serna and a sister, Nellie Ramirez. Mr. Serna was a member of the Catholic Church and retired from the City of Albuquerque. We cannot even begin to explain how awesome of a husband, dad, grandpa and brother that our dad was and always will be. He was such a major part of our lives and we appreciate and love all that he did for us everyday. Daddy (Pops), we will never forget you. We will love you always. A visitation for Mr. Serna will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. by Father Daniel Balizan. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Mike Serna Jr., Albert Lopez Jr., Karen Sanchez-Archibeque, Danny Estrada, Vincent Perea and Ringo Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Sanchez Jr., Greg Carillo, Gilbert Cordova, Art De La O, Manuel Jones, Marissa Mendoza and Chris Jones.
