Obituary for LAMPHERE

Staff Sergeant Kristophor "John" Lamphere, age 30, died tragically on October 24, 2004 in a plane crash in San Diego, California. John was born July 14, 1974 in Janesville, Wisconsin. He had been a resident of Albuquerque since October 2002 and was employed at Med Flight Air Ambulance Inc. John spent his childhood in Crookston, Minnesota and Fargo, North Dakota, where as a youth he discovered his interest in aviation. He joined the New Mexico Air National Guard Security Forces Squadron in June 2003. Prior to this he was a member of the United States Air Force Reserve, March Air Force Base California. John served his country proudly with the United States Air Force in support of Operation Desert Storm from September 1992 to November 1995, and in Yugoslavia, in support of Operation Joint Forge. He was a graduate of the Community College of the Air Force and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He was an accomplished rated pilot who loved God, family, friends, and flying! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. John is survived by his wife, Tammie Lamphere; two step-daughters, Marissa and Briana Chacon; parents, Dr. Richard and LaVonne Lamphere; his three sisters and two brothers: Sheryl Lesar and husband, David; Kathleen Lamphere; Richard Lamphere and wife, Tami; Thomas Lamphere and wife, Rachelle and Kristin Ferris and husband, Kade. He is also survived by his wife's parents; Bill and Mary Lou Christian; sister in-law, Claudia Vallez; and brother in-law, Eric Christian; as well as his nine nieces: Tyler, Tenly, Holly, Lisa, Mackenzie, Leandra, Suzanne, Britney, and Kayla; and his six nephews: John, Alex, Max, Andrew, Austin, and Reed. He is also survived by his uncle, Robert and wife, Pat; his uncle, Don; as well as numerous cousins. Memorial Service to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 3rd at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE. Funeral services to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5th at Height's Christian Church, 6935 Comanche Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. 87110, Ph. (505) 881-9889.
