Obituary for CILURSO

Albert Lawrence Cilurso, 57, entered into eternal rest on October 14, 2004 following a long illness. He was born in Warwick, NY, on December 21, 1946 to Lawrence and Pauline Folino Cilurso. He is survived by his wife, Veronica (Ronnie); a daughter, Michelle Callahan and husband, Jeremy; granddaughter, Ericka of San Rafael, CA; and a brother, Paul of Columbus, OH. Al loved his country and felt honored to have served in the U.S. Army for three years with a tour of duty in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star. After discharge he enlisted in the Army Reserve and later transferred to the Air Force Reserve. He served in Desert Storm in the gulf. Two meritorious medals for outstanding services were awarded to him. He retired with 30 years of service in March 2004 having advanced to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Al was employed as an aerial photographer with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service since moving to Albuquerque in 1993. His job allowed him to enjoy his love of travel, photography, and meeting people. For 15 years, Al volunteered as a wish grantor with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He had requested that if desired memorial contributions be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Mexico, P.O. Box 356, Albuquerque, NM 87103. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on November 6, 2004 at eleven a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5709 Haines Ave, NE.
