Obituary for PETTIT

Donald Roy Pettit, 66, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Pettit; son, Robert Pettit and wife, Parr; daughter, Rachel Rauch and husband, Rick; sisters, Dianne Pettit, Polly Pettit and husband, Peter Dowling; his grandchildren, Chas, Janey, Reagan, and Avery Pettit; niece Jocelyn Dowling; twelve cousins; his extended family; and many friends. Don attended public school in Galesburg, Illinois. He graduated from DePauw University, Green Castle, Indiana in 1960. Don completed a Master's Degreee at Milliken University, Decatur, Illinois in 1966. His musical career included college teaching, public school music, music retail and church music. For twenty-five years he was co-owner of the Pajarito Yamaha Music school of Albuquerque, where his teaching and presence touched the lives of many children and adults. Don was a member of The Cathedral Church of St. John, and was serving on its Vestry as Adult Education Ministry Liaison. He was a member of the Cathedral Choir. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2004, 3:00 p.m., at The Cathedral Church of St. John, 4th St. at Silver SW. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Cathedral Music, c/o The Cathedral Church of St. John, 318 Silver SW, P.O.
