Obituary for MAGEE

Rosa Elaine Thornton Magee, 89, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 18, 2004 in Winter Haven, FL. She is survived by her daughters, Ms. Charlotte Farrington of Glen, MS and Ms. Beverly Routon of Winter Haven, FL; son, David Magee of Fresno, CA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Corrine Ayers of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her three brothers and one sister. Rosa was born June 25, 1915, in Mobeetie, TX, the youngest daughter of Joe and Emma Thornton. She grew up and attended and graduated from the schools in La Junta, CO. Rosa lived most of her life in Albuquerque. She worked with Montgomery Ward for five years before continuing her retail career as a Division Manager with Sears for 30 years. She retired from Sears in 1977. Rosa was a member of the San Marcial Chapter #34 of the OES and was active in various offices of the San Marcial Chapter. Rosa loved her children and grandchildren. She spent most of her retirement years in travel and finally resided with her two daughters. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 22, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
