Obituary for WOODWARD

Rose Duran Woodward, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2004, with her loving family at her side. Ms. Woodward was born on February 22, 1920 to Elfedo and Macedonia Duran of Rainsville, NM. She was a homemaker to her family, loved to cook, was an excellent "cheerleader" for her children's and grandchildren's activities, enjoyed gardening and flowers, especially roses, and an avid bird and animal lover. She also served her community in numerous ways: Altar & Rosary Society, PTA President for St. Anne's Parochial School, Den Mother for Cub Scouts, Precinct & Ward Official for the Bernalillo County Democratic Party, and as County Coordinator for the March of Dimes. She was predeceased by her parents; four sisters: Rosita Rivera, Della Miller, Elizabeth Arguello, and Senaida Apodaca; three brothers: Alfredo, Candelario, and Arturo Duran; and her loving husband, Doyle A. Woodward, Sr. She is survived by her five children: James (Betty) Woodward, Doyle (Donna) Woodward, Jr., Dorothy Woodward, and Mildred Woodward, all of Albuquerque, and Leon (Jeanette) Woodward of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by two sisters: Lena Aspiazu, Angelina Cappelli; and one brother, John Duran; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you is sent to Dr. Nick Volpicelli, the loving staff of Laurel Heights, the compassionate care given by the staff of Ambercare Hospice, and the respite provisions by Share Your Care, Inc. Visitation will take place Sunday, October 17, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options, with the Rosary beginning at 3:00 p.m. and will be recited by Reverend Deacon Mark Bussemeier. The Mass will be held at Risen Savior Catholic Community, Monday, October 18, at 10:00 a.m. Father Dino Candelaria will preside over the Mass.
