Obituary for PADILLA

Georgia Blea Padilla, 66, passed away Friday, October 8, 2004 in Albuquerque after a battle with lung cancer. Georgia was born in Manzano, NM and raised in Mountainair, NM. She graduated from high school in May 1956 and joined the U.S. Navy. She was discharged July 1958 and in February 1960 she started working for the Department of Human Services until 1970 in Albuquerque. She moved to California and worked for Human Services in San Francisco. From December 1973 to March 1977 she worked for Albuquerque Police Department as a 911 & NCIC operator. She then returned to Human Services until October 1995 when she retired and moved to Manzano. Georgia was preceded in death by her father, Higinio Blea, her mother, Matilda Quintana; three sisters, Corina Blea, Corina Luna and Juanita Blea; one baby brother and five nephews, Johnny Ray Baca, Michael Blea, Jr., Mikey Blea, Albert and Celso Quintana; her daughter, Deborah Brewer and her son-in-law, Jeff Brewer. Georgia is survived by six brothers, Cecilio Quintana, Deluvino, Lincoln, Harold, Martin and Michael Blea; three sisters, Lydia Calles, Diana and Rita Blea; three grandchildren, Jeff and wife, Nicole Brewer and their children, Raven Torres, Savannah and Jordan Brewer, Georgia Brewer, Wilton Arias and their children, Jeremiah and Gabriel Salazar and Deborah Arias, and Jolene Brewer, Joseph Apodaca and their son, Joseph Apodaca. She is also survived by her foster children, Sonya and husband, Lorne Grube and their children, Shelby and Dylan Grube, and Reuben and wife, Brenda Padilla, Charles D. Blea, Bridget Garza and their children Alicia Montoya, Charlene, Charmaine and Steven Blea, and Mona Blea and her children, Heaven Throgmorton, Haley Blea and Hannah Torres and David Blea, Raeanne Trujillo and their daughter, Rachel Blea, Leanna Blea, Eloy Romero and their children, Midnight, Eloy, and Ethan Romero. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Cecilio, Joshua, and Rick Blea, Johnny Potts, Jason and Jacob Quintana. Honorary pallbearers will be Yvonne, Serena, Mac and Mary Ann Blea, Daniel, Lisa and Leo Luna. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Tuesday, October 12, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel with Pastor Richard Mansfield officiating. Burial will take place at Mountainair Cemetery in Mountainair, NM. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
