Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday October 10, 2004

Stacy Hope Stitcher, 34, of Roanoke, Virginia, lost her battle with leukemia and began a new journey on September 28, 2004. She is survived by her mother and father, Barbara and Gordon Stitcher of Roanoke; her sister, Stephanie P. Stitcher of Cary, NC; her brother, Phillip Stitcher of Richmond, VA; her beloved friend, Jay Burnett of Roanoke; and her furry feline fellow, Spencer. She was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. As a talented sculptor and artist, her divine spirit at one point led her to Albuquerque, NM where she lived for over 10 years. While in New Mexico, she was the center of a rich circle of friends whose lives she profoundly influenced. Recently, she returned to the Roanoke Valley in continued pursuit of her artistic dreams. Stacy's amazing essence will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all. Donations may be made to the Medical College of Virginia, Roanoke Memorial Hospital and/or the Leukemia Society
