Carmen Madrid passed away peacefully Saturday at her home at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard (Leo) Madrid; and her granddaughter, Amanda (Mandy) Marquez. She is survived by her nine children, Kathryn Marquez and husband, Henry, Lillian Martinez and husband, Ralph, Lucille Mathews and husband, Terry, Leonard Madrid and wife, Margaret, Michael Madrid, Robert Madrid and wife, Dorothy, Carmel Barela and husband, Albert and Lisa Sanchez and husband, Andy; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosella Turrietta; one brother, Joe Aragon; and a lifelong friend, Minnie Baca. Carmen will be deeply missed by her loving family. The family would like to thank all their family and friends for their expressions of sympathy and kindness extended tot them during their time of sorrow. Also a special thank you to her nurse Barbara Egelman. Services will be held on Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
