Mr. Jose J. Romero, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 18, 2004 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Amalia; and a sister, Carmen Sanchez. Mr. Romero is the beloved father to his six children, Eleno J. Romero and wife, Patti, George A. Romero and wife, Theresa, Theresa Armijo and husband, Henry, Peter P. Romero, Mary Romero Hart and husband, Colin, Dennis Romero and Sandra Chavez; Mr. Romero is also survived by his one sister, Josefita Romero; six brothers, Marcos Romero and wife, Julia, Julian Romero and wife, Massey, Margarito Romero and wife, Virginia, Juan C. Romero Jr., and wife, Bertha, Manuel Romero and wife, Pat, Pedro Romero and wife, Rommie; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Romero was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church for over 50 years. a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and a member of the Knights of Columbus. A visitation for Mr. Romero will be Tuesday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, (Lomas at Tennessee) with visitation at the church from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at La Cienega Cemetery, La Cienega New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Lucas Romero, Ramon Romero, Adrian Romero, Danny Zamora, Joseph Zamora, and Dominic Romero. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Jerome Bustamante who is serving in the United States Army National Guard in Iraq, Anita Romero, Angela Romero, Maria ELena Romero, Yolanda Noumi, and Deanna Armijo.
