Obituary for LYONS

Bessie H. Lyons, age 90. Born in Ft Valley Georgia. Longtime resident of Cocoa, Florida. After a long and valiant battle with Alzheimer's passed to be with her Lord on Monday 13 Sep 2004. She worked as a custodian at Cocoa High School and for the Brevard County Recreation Department. She spent many years helping her friends and relatives in Cocoa FL to have better lives. She gave a multitude of service to her community. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched. During her illness, Ms Lyons moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1994. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Fletcher Lyons, parents Robert and Hattie Hughes, three brothers, Rev. Jerry Thomas Hughes, Ora & Cleveland Hughes. She leaves to mourn a devoted daughter, Alfreda Lyons Fain, Albuquerque, New Mexico; son, Willie J. Lyons, spouse Cynthia, Cocoa, Florida; five grandchildren, Monica Fain Brown, spouse, Lewis, Jacksonville FL, Willie J. Lyons, Jr, spouse, Tawanna, Cocoa FL, Vivian L. Fain, Albuquerque NM, Jackie Lyons, Cocoa FL and Katrina Fain, Chicago IL; four great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Odessa Lyons Williams, Cocoa, FL, Emma Lyons, Clinton, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was a devoted member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. Melvin Chatman pastor. Memorial Service will be held on 25 September 2004, in Cocoa, Florida at Parker Memorial Baptist Church.
