ET2 Dean Gabriel Gonzales, US Navy died Saturday, September 11, 2004 in Corpus Christi, TX. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Kay Gonzales; sister, Leticia Reynolds and husband, Wesley; brother, Gregory Gonzales and wife, Laura; sister, Kristy Gonzales; grandmother, Margaret Gonzales; and niece, Aubrey Gonzales all of Albuquerque. Dean was a graduate of La Cueva High School in 2001 where he was the Drum Corp Leader. He served his country in the US Navy on the USS Shrike MHC-62. Dean was a qualified enlisted surface warfare specialist. He was one of the ship's master helmsmen and was at the helm as the ship transited the Panama Canal returning from 6 months deployment overseas. Dean earned several awards including the Navy Achievement Medal. Interment will take place Friday, September 17, 2004, 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
