Obituary for RATLIFF

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday September 15, 2004

Jacqueline Herndon Ratliff, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe B. Ratliff; her daughter, Beverly Williams and husband, Charles of Albuquerque; her son, Gerald and wife, Becky also of Albuquerque; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Jackie was born on July 8, 1927 in Santa Rosa, NM to Chisolm and Lucille Herndon. It was there, in a malt shop, that she met Joe. They began their life together on December 14, 1945. They lived in Los Alamos, NM for about five years before relocating to Albuquerque. Jackie worked as an administrative assistant for AAA until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, painting, crocheting, sewing and baking with her grandchildren. Jackie was warm and good and kind. She is now complete in the Lord and certainly smiling for those mourning, for she knows that we do not grieve as those who have no hope, (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Memorial services will be held on Friday, 10:00 a.m., French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Dr. Robert J. Butler officiating. Interment of cremains will take place 2:30 p.m., on Friday, at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
