Harry P. Wheeler, 89, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2004. He was an avid golfer and has resided in Rio Communities since 1980. Harry was a member of the RSVP Program and volunteered in assisting and managing the Valencia County Storehouse for 22 years. He retired after 20 years of service as a civil engineer for Sandia Corporation in Albuquerque. Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ada Wheeler; his loving wife of 51 years, Bonnie; and his sister, Blanche Winkler. He is survived by his loving children, Greg Wheeler of Albuquerque; and Linda Sloop of Eastover, SC; one brother, Clerance Wheeler of Arnold, MO; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Sloop of Eastover, SC. Services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel beginning with a viewing on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Terrace Grove Cemetery.
