Obituary for HERRERA

Raul "Dr. H" Herrera, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Haydee Herrera; children, Marcia Yoos and husband, Mark, Mike Herrera, Heidi Herrera, Raoul Herrera and wife, Ruby, and Marisol Herrera; grandchildren, Samantha, RJ, Neil, and Stephen; and sister, Marta Serrano. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Dr. Herrera was always willing to put his family first. He came to the United States from Cuba in 1960 and was proud to become a US Citizen in 1970. He received his PhD in law from the University of Havana before coming to the USA. Dr. Herrera received his Masters Degree in Library Science at the U. of Kansas/Emporia and later was Director of Library Sciences at NM Highlands for 20 years. After retiring in 1992, he sold real estate. Services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
