Rafael Duran, 88, and a life long resident of the Cuba area, passed away Monday, September 6, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Audelia; two infant sons; parents, Petrita and Jose de La Luz Duran; two brothers; and one sister. Rafael is survived by his five sons, Anselmo and wife, Flora of Cuba, NM, Gilbert and wife, Sharon of Bernalillo, NM, Rick and wife, Terry of Lindrith, NM, Ralph and wife, Jessie of Cuba, NM, Julian and wife, Yole of Cuba, NM.; four daughters, Emma Dominguez of Rio Rancho, NM, Jennie Chapman and husband, Bill of Phoenix, AZ, Cecilia Duarte and husband, Jose of Los Lunas, NM, Fabiola Morales and husband, Clarence of Cuba, NM; two sisters-in-law, Lucy Casaus and Alice Jacquez; two brothers-in-law, Eliseo Jacquez and wife, Eufemia and Jake Arellano; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2004. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2004. Burial will follow at Cuba Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his five sons.
