Obituary for DEARHOLT

Rose A. Dearholt passed away September 6, 2004 at her daughter's home in Lakeside, AZ while surrounded by close family. She was raised in Magdalena, NM and shared her early life with thirteen brothers & sisters. After graduating from High School, she went to Washington D.C. to work at the Pentagon. After some years, she returned to New Mexico and went to work with Mountain Bell. Rose married Samuel Ray Dearholt, Jr. in February 1953. Samuel worked for the FAA and they first moved to Alaska, and then relocated to Albuquerque, NM where they spent the rest of their time together. Rose then decided to work as a bookkeeper at a private school, Sunset Mesa, where she worked for 20 years, enjoying the school and the children. She was a member of the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church family in Albuquerque. Rose enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking incredible desserts and candies as some of her hobbies. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and spent many vacations with them in Colorado, Canada, Mexico, Washington, Oregon, Indiana, and Arizona with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rose is survived by her daughter, Carla (Carl) Wibel of Lakeside; son, Gregory (Carole) Dearholt; grandchildren, Tori & Milton Lau, Chris & Melanie Foster, Trevor & Jordan Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Evan & Sofia Lau; sister, Emma Armijo; brother, Junior Armijo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dearholt, Jr.; daughter, Marta Rose; parents, Solomon & Candelaria Armijo; sisters, Dome Gilbert, Lily Winston, Grego Pino, Mary Molinar; brothers, Mayo, John, Claude, Martin, Willie, and Raymond Armijo. A Memorial Mass will be held on September 11, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Avenue, Albuquerque, NM. The Mass will be officiated by Father Bill Day. A gathering by family and friends will be held at Rose's home in Albuquerque immediately after the Mass. The immediate family will gather at the National Veterans Cemetery located in Santa Fe, NM on Monday September 13, 2004, where Rose will be brought together with her husband Samuel. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to RTA Hospice 1789 W. Commerce Dr. Lakeside, AZ 85929.
